Stora Sjöfallet National Park - Kungsleden and Soldalen
Steep climb to Soldalen by hiking part of Kungsleden.

On the drive to the trail there was mountains hovering over us with small waterfalls.
Walking Part of Kungsleden
On the second day at Stora Sjöfallets National Park (see post: Stora Sjöfallets National Park - A powerful sence of ancient nature, to read about the first day), we hiked a section of the Kungsleden trail, so my dog Vizze could come along. It’s about a 20-minute drive from Naturum to the start (stage 8 of Kungsleden), which goes up to Soldalen. I later got to know that many people hike to Soldalen, have a snack, and then go back down - and that’s what we did.

The climb was steep from the beginning and we quickly got amazing views over the river and mountains on the other side.

The path is mostly steep with loose gravel, so wear good shoes and take it slow. You can drink from the streams along the way so no need to bring a lot of water. At the top, the view opens up - wild and ancient. Standing therewith the mountains around us, it felt like stepping back in time.

In Soldalen.
